Juveniles Taken Into Custody After Found Hiding in Unoccupied NP Home
The seven juveniles were released to their parents, while two adults were charged with various offenses.

On March 17, patrols responded to a residence on Elkwood Avenue on a report from a concerned resident that observed individuals entering a neighbor’s home was supposed to be unoccupied.
Upon patrols arrival, officers observed several individuals run from the home. The home’s doors were open and patrols could observe numerous people inside. Patrols attempted to locate the homeowner but found multiple people hiding in the home.
Seven juveniles were taken into protective custody and released to their parents. An adult identified as Julian Navarette, 18, of New Providence was arrested and charged with obstruction of justice and resisting arrest. He was released at headquarters to a family member with a pending court date. A juvenile female was transported to Overlook Hospital by the New Providence Rescue Squad due to being severely intoxicated.

Patrolman Chad Wilson also charged Christopher Price, 51, of New Providence with driving while intoxicated and refusing to submit to breath tests. These charges stem from Mr. Price driving his vehicle to the scene of this investigation while being intoxicated. He was transported to police headquarters and was released to a friend with a pending court date.
