NPHS Marching Band Sets New Record as State Champions

The Marching Band has also been invited to perform the half time show for the New York Giants vs. Washington Redskins football game at the Met Life Stadium on Sunday, Dec. 18.

 

The New Providence High School Marching Band participated in the USSBA NJ State Championship on Saturday, Nov. 5 at Union High School and earned a score of 96.6 – the highest score in the history of The New Providence High School Marching Band. 

In addition, they received Special Awards for Best Overall Effect, Best Visual Performance and Best Color Guard.  The band scored third overall in A Class Competition in the State of New Jersey out of 73 Schools.

That competitive win was followed by Nationals (for the Northeastern Region) in Allentown, PA.  New Providence High School Marching Band received first place in group 6A competition with a score of 96.428 and awards for Best Music, Best Visual Performance and Best Percussion.  

The NPHS Marching Band season usually ends on Thanksgiving Day with a half time show at the New Providence/Berkeley Heights Football Game. But this year, New Providence High School Marching Band has been invited to perform the half time show for the New York Giants vs. Washington Redskins football game at the Met Life Stadium on Sunday, Dec. 18.
