New Providence woman was told to wire money to Western Union.

A New Providence resident told police that someone tried to scam her over the phone.
A Hickson Drive resident told police Sept. 6 that she received a call from someone claiming to be the chief investigation officer of the IRS. The caller told her she was being investigated for fake tax returns and had to wire $2,694.45 or the authorities would arrest her. The scammer told her to wire the money to Western Union.
