SAGE Recycles Used Cell Phones To Help Local Seniors in Need

Local residents can drop off used cell phones and other electronics at SAGE Eldercare in Summit, Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., as a part of their new fundraising program.

SAGE Eldercare has joined forces with the National Council on Aging (NCOA) in a new fundraising program which will benefit seniors – the collection of used cell phones and other electronics.

The program will help contribute to support SAGE Eldercare’s programs and services, such as providing meals on wheels, care giving support, health promotion activities, and life-long learning, as well as help the environment.

“We’re really excited to participate in this program since we’re not only reducing dangerous chemicals in our landfills, we’re also using the proceeds towards helping senior citizens in our area,” says Dawn Knill, Director of Development.  “Most people don’t know what to do with old phones and electronics, so this is an easy way to dispose of these items and ensure that the proceeds go to a good cause.”
