The Week Ahead: President's Day, Career Workshop, Read to a Dog
Plus, "Take Shelter" will be screened at the library on Tuesday, while a presentation called "Scenic Vietnam" will be shared at the Old Guard of Summit meeting.

1. All Borough Offices, the New Providence Memorial Library and New Providence District Schools will be closed this Monday in observance of President's Day. Schools will also be closed on Tuesday and Wednesday for Winter Break, but students will return Thursday and Friday to make up snow days taken during the Fall snowstorm.
2. The New Providence Memorial Library will screen the movie "Take Shelter" (2011) Rated R, on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. For more information, visit newprovidencelibrary.org.
3. The Old Guard of Summit will host their weekly meeting on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. The meeting will feature a slide presentation called "Scenic Vietnam," by Fontaine Gatti, a Certified Travel Consultant with Travelong of Summit. 4. The Presbyterian Church at New Providence and Long Hill Chapel are hosting a 10-week workshop called Career Directions, which is intended for those who are currently out of work, those considering a career change and anyone just entering the job market. This week's seminar session, which will be held on Wednesday from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the Presbyterian Church, is called "The Successful Interview — Highlighting Your Accomplishments & Skills,

5. Parents can sign their children up to "Read to a Dog" at the New Providence Memorial Library, which will be held on Thursday from 7 to 8 p.m. The dogs and their handlers, who sign up through St. Hubert's, donate their time to help early readers gain the skills and confidence that come from reading aloud to easy-going listeners.
