The Week Ahead: Read to Simber, Job Seminar, Crime Prevention Program

Plus, the New Providence Memorial Library will screen two movies on Tuesday, while Mountainside Public Library will host a musical event on Thursday.

1. The will host "Read to Simber" on Monday from 6 to 7 p.m. Simber is a Bright & Beautiful Certified Therapy Dog, according to the library's website, and has passed the ACK Canine Good Citizens Test. She takes tracking and sheep herding classes. At this informal reading program, Simber and her handler Sarah Ehrlich will meet and be read to by children of all ages. 2. The is offering free seminars, "Finding The Job You Really Want," beginning Monday at 7:30 p.m. The job seminars will be offered every Monday through April 30. Topics are relevant to those who are unemployed, under employed, or who anticipate having to make a job change. The March 12 seminar will focus on Positioning Yourself in a Difficult Job Market and will be led by Lloyd Feinstein, founder of Career Marketing Consultants. No pre-registration is needed. 3. The will screen "Like Crazy," (PG-13, 2011) at 9:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. and "Nobody Knows," (PG-13, 2004), at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. All movie screenings are free and open to the public.

4. Residents concerned about the can attend the 's Crime Prevention Program on Wednesday. In cooperation with , this two-part program will begin at 7 p.m. in the and will focus on current crime trends, including burglary and thefts in our town and surrounding communities. This program is open to the public and residents are encouraged to attend. For more information, please .

5. will host "Les Paul — Mary Ford Tribute," on Thursday from 7 to 8 p.m. Sandy and Tom Doyle will perform percussion flute, guitar and vocals, and will play a variety of hits. Tom will also give a talk about the "Father of Electric Guitar," Les Paul. Sponsored by the Friends of the Mountainside Public Library, admission is free.
