Go to a market
There are several markets around the county to visit during the summer months, like the one in downtown Westfield, which is being held every Saturday until October. Go to an outdoor concert
The summer concert series at the Arboretum garden in Summit, Sounds of a Summer Night, is back. The concerts will be held every Wednesday evening in the Yon and Francie Cho Garden Amphitheater on the grounds of Reeves-Reed Arboretum (165 Hobart Ave.). Entry is free for Reeves-Reed Arboretum Members and children 3 and under. Non-member tickets are $15 and for students are $5.

Participate in a women's self-defense class
Shock Room Fitness teamed up with Yale Street Wrestling and the Summit and Berkeley Heights police departments to organize free self-defense classes for women. Classes will happen every Saturday morning from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., as well as every Wednesday from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. during the month of June.
More classes will be added for July and August due to overwhelming demand. To register for upcoming classes email shockroomfitness@gmail.com.
Relax by the pool
Many public and private pools around the state are back open this year. The New Providence Community Pool, the Berkeley Heights Community Pool, the Berkeley Swim Club, and the Springfield Community Pool for example have announced they will be open for the summer season.
