Union County Woman, 73, Charged in Stabbing Death of Husband

A 73-year-old Union County woman has been arrested and charged in the stabbing death of her husband on Monday, authorities said.

Julia Morris, of Union Township, is charged with murder in connection with the stabbing death of her 80-year-old husband George Morris, according to the Union County Prosecutor’s Office.

Members of the Union County Homicide Task Force responded to the elderly couple’s Union Township home in the 300 block of Revere Avenue shortly after 4 p.m. Monday and found George Morris’ body inside, the prosecutor’s office said. Julia Morris was transported by police to Overlook Hospital in Summit for observation and treatment of non life-threatening injuries.

Bail for Julia Morris was set at $300,000.

The Union County Prosecutor’s Office said the incident is under investigation by the Homicide Task Force, the Union Township Police and the Union County Sheriff’s Office ID Unit.
