10 New Businesses That Opened In Ocean City In 2023
Fresh sushi, specialty burgers and everything pickle-related. Several fun and unique new stores came to Ocean City this year.

OCEAN CITY, NJ — If you're in the mood for fresh baked goods, need some new athleisure wear or are craving pickles, there's a shop for that in Ocean City. And they all opened this year.
It was a good year for business on the island, with plenty of new stores and restaurants opening. Many of these quickly established themselves as can't-miss locations and have become treasured within the community.
These are ten new businesses that opened in Ocean City in 2023.

Fresh seafood is a given when you're at the shore. Sushi and poke bowls are a great way to indulge in that, and you can enjoy those at Seapark, which came to Ocean City this past summer. This restaurant also has a variety of lobster rolls, and you can quench your thirst with one of their bubble teas or lemonades.

Agape Gourmet (854 Asbury Ave.)
This specialty grocer has quickly become popular. Agape Gourmet stocks all sorts of locally-produced goods, so shopping at this small business further supports other small businesses. Pick up grocery items, try one of their sandwiches or order a special-made charcuterie board.
Green Eggs Café (500 E. 9th St.)
A Philadelphia favorite opened at the Chatterbox this past spring. A popular brunch spot, this eco-conscious restaurant offers plenty of options for both fans of sweet and savory. Their massive French toasts are perfect for those who have an insane sweet tooth.
Want something healthier? This Brigantine-based smoothie and coffee shop opened an Ocean City location this year. They serve trendy acai bowls and "nice cream," an ice cream alternative made with frozen bananas, vanilla and coconut milk. Plus, there are plenty of vegan options.
PJ Bucket's (621 8th and Ocean Ave.)
Even more fresh seafood came to Ocean City with the opening of this Ventnor-based eatery's new location. They're best known for their seafood boils, but they also serve a variety of soups, rolls and pastas. You can also buy their seafood by the pound.
Who doesn't love a classic burger? Old School Burgers serves a variety of these American favorites, plus refreshing milkshakes. Plus, try their cheesesteaks, hot dogs and chicken. Finish the meal with any of their specialty fries.
Lisa's Sweet Treats (1046 Asbury Ave.)
Last year's closure of Wards Pastry left a cake-sized hole in the hearts of Ocean City. But Lisa's Sweet Treats filled that hole in a tasty way. With delicious donuts, cupcakes, cookies and more, this bakery has already become a favorite for locals and visitors alike.
Groovy Smoovies (611 E. 8th St.)
It was a good year for Ocean City's smoothie lovers. This shop, based in Haddonfield and owned by former Philadelphia Eagles offensive lineman Shawn Andrews and his business partner Antonne Jones, made a splash at the shore. The movie-themed business offers a variety of tasty drinks.
Athleisure wear is super trendy, and this new shop offers plenty of it. If you buy items with the shop's logo on it, you're supporting a good cause - 50 percent of proceeds from those sales goes to the Michael J. Fox Foundation to find a cure for Parkinson's disease, in honor of the owner's grandfather.
Ocean City Pickle Company (1324 Asbury Ave.)
It's paradise for pickle lovers. The second location of the beloved Smithville Pickle Company, this shop has everything pickle fans could ever want, with more than 100 varieties sold. It sells gourmet popcorn and pretzels, too.
