722 Finish Fifth Annual OCNJ Half Marathon

Doug Schmitt and Nicole Tassello were the top male and female finishers.

A record field of runners in the OCNJ Half Marathon had sunny, breezy and cool conditions for the 13.1-mile race on Sunday, Sept. 29.

The fifth annual race had 722 finishers.

Doug Schmitt, 46, a former Ocean City Beach Patrol lifeguard, won the race in 1:19.12, maintaining a 6:03 mile pace over the 13.1-mile course. Nicole Tassello, 21, was the top female in 1:26.27.
