'The Board Room' Offers Indoor Family Fun In Ocean City
The newest Asbury Avenue business invites families to spend a day remembering when fun happened without screens.

OCEAN CITY, NJ — A rainy day is rarely a good thing when it comes to doing business in a shore town. That wasn't the case Thursday, as Asbury Avenue's newest shop The Board Room held its grand opening, offering families a fun place to play indoors as rain fell down outside.
The first of its kind in Ocean City, The Board Room is a stay-and-play shop where families can play board games or do puzzles with each other for $5 an hour per person. The store also offers a variety of board games for sale, so you can keep the fun going while sitting on the front porch.

Thursday's ribbon cutting was attending by Ocean City officials and the owners of the new business, the Deckards, with their children, emphasizing the familial nature of the new shop.

"It's so neat that you're actually bringing in people to interact with people," said Ocean City Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Michele Gillian. "And that's a good thing."
