Candidates for June Primary Are Set

Voters will decide party candidates for state offices.

Ocean City voters go to the polls on June 4 for a primary election that includes few contested races.

Ocean City's nonpartisan municipal government will hold its next election in May 2014. The June primary will decide only candidates for state office.

The deadline for candidates to submit petitions was Monday, April 1, and the unofficial slate of primary candidates is as follows (candidate hometown and slogan is included for non-incumbents):

STATE OF NEW JERSEY

Governor (vote for one)

  • Republican: Chris Christie (incumbent), Seth Grossman (Linwood, Restore Republican Principles)
  • Democrat: Barbara Buono (Metuchen, Cape May County Regular Democrat Committee, Inc.), Carl A. Bergmanson (Glen Ridge, Democrats for Change), William Araujo (Edison, Change Is Finally Here), Jeff Boss (Jersey City, Free College — Dogs Allowed — Legalize Cannibis), Troy Webster (East Orange, Democrats for Forward Progress)

 

FIRST LEGISLATIVE DISTRICT

State Senate (vote for one)

  • Democrat: Jeff Van Drew (Dennisville, incumbent)
  • Republican: Susan Adelizzi-Schmidt (Seaville, Cape May County Regular Republican Organization), Robert G. Campbell (Newport, Republican — Connecting With the People)

General Assembly (vote for two)

  • Democrat: Nelson Albano (Vineland, incumbent) and Bob Andrzejczak (Cape May, appointed incumbent)
  • Republican: Sam Fiocchi (Vineland, Cape May County Regular Republican Organization) and Kristine Gabor (Petersburg, Cape May County Regular Republican Organization)
