Township of Upper
The County of Cape May will begin the resurfacing of Tuckahoe-Mount Pleasant Road (Cr 664) on Tuesday July 8th as part of a planned resurfacing project. The project will consist of a 5” mill and resurfacing of the existing roadway paving beginning at the intersection of Dennisville Petersburg Road (CR 610) and extending north to 300lf south of Marshall Avenue. The project will involve milling the existing roadway to a depth of 5” and installing a 3” bituminous base course and 2” surface course. The final paving elevation will remain essentially unchanged. The paving work will proceed as a daytime operation.

In order to safely execute the work, during active construction, north bound Tuckahoe- Mount Pleasant Road traffic will be detoured while south bound traffic is maintained. Traffic wishing to head north along Tuckahoe-Mount Pleasant Road will be directed to continue east along Dennisville Petersburg Road (Cr 610) to N.J. Route 50. Traffic will then continue north along Route 50 to the intersection with Tuckahoe Mount Pleasant Road in Tuckahoe. South bound traffic will be maintained.
Local traffic will be maintained, and residents will always have access to their homes. Normal traffic patterns will resume at the end of each day and on the weekend. The project is expected to take about 2 weeks to complete. Motorists are urged to use caution when traveling thru the work zone as there may be times when there will be a 2” drop off at the centerline with the adjacent lane. There will also be a time when no striped centerline will exist and stick down reflectors will delineate the roadway centerline.
