Coastal Flood Advisory In Ocean City For Wednesday Evening: NWS
Residents should be prepared to move their vehicles to safe places in advance of the high tide, Ocean City officials said.
OCEAN CITY, NJ — "Minor" coastal flooding is anticipated in Ocean City Wednesday evening, and the National Weather Service has issued a Coastal Flood Advisory in effect from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Sept. 7.
"A near full moon and strong northeast winds are expected to combine to cause 'minor' coastal flooding," the Ocean City Office of Emergency Management said. "Predicted rain also could contribute to flooding conditions."
Water levels are predicted to peak around high tide on the bay side (Ninth Street Bridge) at 6:40 p.m., the OEM said.

A water level of 6.2 feet is predicted on the mean low water scale, the NWS said. The typical high tide in Ocean City is between three and five feet.
Residents should be prepared to to move vehicles to safe places "well in advance" of the high tide, the OEM said.

Roads closer to the beach, such as Central and Wesley avenues, are typically higher in elevation.
Parking is also available at Trinity United Methodist Church at 20 North Shore Rd in Marmora, though residents are asked to watch out for people and to park away from the Nursery School entrance and church building.
"For your safety and the protection of your vehicle and neighboring properties, never attempt to drive through flood waters, and do not drive around barricades," the OEM said.
