Coastal Flood Warning Through Tuesday In Ocean City: NWS
A High Surf Advisory is also in effect through Tuesday, and a Wind Advisory is in effect until 6 p.m. Monday.
OCEAN CITY, NJ — The Coastal Flood Warning in Ocean City has been extended through 9 p.m. on Oct. 4, according to the National Weather Service.
Ocean City has already seen flooding since the remnants of Hurricane Ian have been in the area. Photos and videos shared on social media show impassible flooded roads.
The forecast calls for sustained northeast winds of 25 to 30 mph, with gusts up to 45 mph. Rain will continue through Tuesday ,the NWS said.

A Wind Advisory will be in effect through 6 p.m. Monday. A High Surf Advisory also will be in effect through Tuesday.
According to the Ocean City Office of Emergency Management, water levels are predicted to crest in the hours around high tide on the bay side (Ninth Street Bridge) of Ocean City at the following times:

- 3:04 p.m. Monday: 6.7 feet MLW forecast
- 3:43 a.m. Tuesday: 5.7 feet MLW forecast
- 4:15 p.m. Tuesday: 6.9 feet MLW forecast
- 4:58 a.m. Wednesday: 5.6 feet MLW forecast
- 5:25 p.m. Wednesday: 6.3 feet MLW forecast
By comparison, the peak water level on Sunday afternoon (Oct. 2) reached 6.37 feet MLW, according to the OEM. Visit www.ocnj.us/octides to compare this prediction to other recent and historic tide levels. The typical high tide in Ocean City is between three and five feet.
The Ocean City School District has announced early dismissal for students at Ocean City Intermediate School (12:10 p.m.), Ocean City High School (12:40 p.m.) and Ocean City Primary School (1:30 p.m.)
"Residents should secure loose items outdoors in yards and on decks," the OEM said. "For your safety and the protection of your vehicle and neighboring properties, never attempt to drive through flood waters, and do not drive around barricades."
For those who need to move vehicles, parking at all municipal lots will be free, but access may be limited during peak tides. Roads closer to the beach, such as Wesley and Central avenues, are typically at higher elevation.
Parking is also available at Trinity United Methodist Church at 20 North Shore Rd in Marmora, though residents are asked to watch out for people and to park away from the Nursery School entrance and church building.
