Free Paper Shredding, Electronics Recycling on Saturday

Individuals are invited to shred documents at two different events on Saturday.

The accounting firm Fitzpatrick, Bongiovanni and Kelly will sponsor a free community paper-shredding day 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday (May 4) at FBK Marmora, Plaza 9, 293 S. Shore Road in Marmora.

Individuals are invited to bring up to five boxes of old bank statements, credit card statements, tax returns and other documents to be disposed of safely and securely. (No businesses, please.)

The City of Ocean City will sponsor its own paper-shredding event 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 4, at the Shelter Road Recycling Center (off Tennessee Avenue) in Ocean City.

The event includes paper-shredding, electronics recycling (small appliances, televisions, stereos, computers and monitors) and an opportunity to donate old cell phones in exchange for phone cards for soldiers overseas.

The event is free to residents of Ocean City (who must show identification).
