Dog Stuck In Jersey Shore Inlet Rescued: Officials
Bruno the dog was struggling to swim at Hereford Inlet and got caught in the tide, officials said.
NORTH WILDWOOD, NJ — A dog that was swimming in Hereford Inlet was rescued by firefighters Monday afternoon.
The Stone Harbor Fire Department said they were called to assist North Wildwood firefighters with a water rescue at about 3:30 p.m. Monday. A dog was reportedly swimming far from shore and in distress, officials said.
Authorities quickly found Bruno the dog, "who was struggling to swim while being caught in the tide."

They brought Bruno aboard their wave runner and he was taken back to the shore, where he was reunited with his owner.
It wasn't clear how the dog had gotten into the inlet. Dogs are allowed on North Wildwood beaches whenever lifeguards are not present. North Wildwood also has a dog park on the beach.
