Early Morning Shooting In Somers Point Under Investigation
Police are seeking information from the public about a shooting at the Somers Point Apartments on Monday around 12:15 a.m.
SOMERS POINT, NJ — An early morning shooting at the Somers Point Apartments is under investigation, according to Somers Point Police Chief Robert Somers.
On Monday at 12:15 a.m. police received reports that gun shots were fired at the Somers Point Apartment complex at 50 Mays Landing Rd. across from Point Plaza.
While responding, officers were told that a white SUV fled the scene at a high rate of speed, Somers said. Police located and stopped the vehicle at Pennsylvania Avenue and New Road.

The vehicle was occupied by a 33-year-old man with multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to the AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center Trauma Unit with non-life threatening injuries, Somers said.
As of Monday afternoon, suspects have not been identified. Anyone who may have witnessed or has information regarding this incident is urged to contact the Somers Point Police Department at 609-927-6161.
