Councilman Scott Ping is accused of driving under the influence after a single-car crash on March 15.

Egg Harbor Township Police Lt. Robert Gray released the following information Monday in response to an Ocean City Patch inquiry about a single-car crash March 15 that led to suspected driving under the influence charges against Councilman Scott Ping.
On Friday, March 15, 2013 the Egg Harbor Township Police Department responded to a motor vehicle crash which occurred at approximately 11:33 pm on Ocean Drive, between Longport Blvd and the Ocean City toll bridge.
The 2012 Chevrolet Camaro operated by Marvin Scott Ping, 64 years of age from Ocean City, was proceeding south on the Ocean Drive when his vehicle exited the roadway to the right and struck a guardrail. His vehicle then continued under power, while scraping the passenger side of the vehicle along the length of the guardrail.  The vehicle eventually separated from the guardrail and came to rest disabled in the marsh.  Â
