Facecrook: Sheriff's Website Seeks Eyes of Public

A new website includes photographs of the county's most-wanted fugitives.

Cape May County Sheriff Gary Schaffer this week announced the launch of “Facecrook,” a new online tool that allows website visitors to search for any active warrants currently held by the Sheriff’s Office.

The website is designed to use the public to help locate the county's fugitives. It includes photographs and the last known addresses of the county's most-wanted criminals.

The site allows the public to filter photographs by town and street, so Ocean City residents can search for fugitives known to have lived nearby.

"Facecrook" was designed by the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office to leverage technology against decreased manpower and budget constraints. Through the use of “pin-mapping,” site visitors can view the last known whereabouts of fugitives. This application is the first of its kind in New Jersey.
