Free Tree Seedlings For Ocean City Residents: Where To Get Yours
Ocean City will be giving away 500 trees on Friday for residents as part of the New Jersey Tree Recovery Campaign. Here's where to get them.
OCEAN CITY, NJ — Ocean City residents can pick up free tree seedlings on April 29.
Starting at 10 a.m. and while supplies last, residents can pick up tree seedlings outside of Ocean City Community Center, 1735 Simpson Ave., and City Hall, 861 Asbury Ave. The seedlings are available on a first come, first serve basis. There will be 500 trees available in a variety of species that can thrive in a coastal environment.
Seedlings will also come with instructions on how to store, plant and care for them.

The giveaway is part of the New Jersey Tree Recovery Campaign, with the goal of helping communities replace trees damaged or destroyed by Superstorm Sandy and by invasive insects.
The Tree Recovery Campaign wants to distribute over 500,000 tree seedlings to New Jersey residents over the course of five years. It is a joint effort between Ocean City, New Jersey Forest Service, New Jersey Soil Conservation Districts, Sustainable Jersey, Arbor Day Foundation, FedEx, International Paper, AT&T and iCIMS.
