How Much Is COVID Spreading In Cape May County
The variant accounted for more than half of NJ cases over a four-week period. Here's a look at the impact it's having on Cape May County.
CAPE MAY COUNTY, NJ — Cape May County and New Jersey continue to see an increase in coronavirus cases. (See town-by-town data below.)
The county averaged 20 new cases per day over the past ten days, according to data provided by the county department of health. There were 302 active cases in the county as of Friday, up from 161 reported the previous week on July 30.
“It appears the more transmissible delta variant of the COVID virus is within the county population and is likely accounting for many of the new cases,” county officials said Friday in a statement. “Fortunately, hospitalizations have remained relatively low, with 11 COVID positive patients admitted as of Thursday’s report.”
