How Much Snow Did Ocean City, NJ Get?
The cleanup continues across New Jersey Sunday after a nor'easter that dropped as much as 21 inches of snow in some areas.

OCEAN CITY, NJ — A day after a nor'easter dumped as much as 21 inches of snow in New Jersey, cleanup work is ongoing including in Ocean City on Sunday.
Ocean City Mayor Jim Gillian said plow crews were working through the night Saturday into Sunday to get the roads cleared. The city received 15.5 inches, according to reports to the National Weather Service.
"Our Public Works crews have been working all night and all day," he said Saturday afternoon. "Please continue to limit travel to allow our team to do its work. Because we have a good working relationship with some of the road construction contractors who are doing work in town, we have been able to secure dump trucks and other equipment to help move snow piles from the downtown, schools and other public areas. This will help keep everybody safe when students return to school and businesses reopen on Monday."

He said the city expected to be able to reopen the Community Center, including the Ocean City Free Public Library and Aquatic & Fitness Center, on a normal schedule Sunday.
With freezing temperatures expected through the weekend, snow banks will remain into next week.

"Trash containers should not be placed behind any snow piles," Gillian said. "Our contractor cannot climb over drifts to collect trash and recycling. If you use a trash corral, please dig it out to provide access. You also can assist in public safety by helping to shovel out fire hydrants near your home."
"I want to thank you all for your patience as we continue to clear the roads," he said.
If you waited until Sunday to shovel, remember to push the snow instead of lifting, and drink plenty of water. Remember to shovel out around any fire hydrants near your home.
And dress warmly as temperatures were set to drop into the single digits overnight and were expected to stay cold for the start of the day.
