Last Day Set For Gillian's Wonderland Pier In Ocean City

OCEAN CITY, NJ — There's only a short time left to use up your Gillian's Wonderland Pier tickets, as the amusement park's last day is Oct. 13.

The park's final day is announced on an automated message when you call their phone number. On its last day, Wonderland will be open from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.

The closure comes the day after Ocean City's popular Fall Block Party.

Owner and Mayor Jay Gillian announced Wonderland's imminent closure early in August. It marks the end of a 94-year-old legacy.

In announcing the closure, Gillian said that he had "little choice but to retire and close" the businesses after 47 years of him working.

"I tried my best to sustain Wonderland for as long as possible - through increasingly difficult challenges each year," Gillian said. "But it's no longer a viable business."

Wonderland was at risk of foreclosure in 2021, when local developer and Icona Resorts CEO Eustace Mita joined Gillian as a co-owner and saved it from closure.

Mita has not yet said what he plans to do with the business.
