Fisherman Goes Missing In Ocean City On Saturday, Family Says

Sam DeLarso, 53, went fishing on Saturday and the police are looking for information on his whereabouts.

OCEAN CITY, NJ - Samantha DeLarso never thought she would be making a Facebook post to help find her father. Her father, Sam DeLarso, is an avid fisherman, comfortable working in the water and was gearing up to enjoy a family outing on Saturday.

Now he's missing.

"I never in 1 million years thought I’d have to make a post like this but my dad, Sam DeLarso, is MISSING!!!" Samantha DeLarso, Sam DeLarso's daughter, wrote in a Facebook post detailing her father's disappearance.

The Somers Point man is missing after he went out for a fishing trip in Ocean City on Saturday, according to an article from BreakingAC.com.

Sam DeLarso, 53, had left his home around 4 or 5 a.m. to get bait for an afternoon fishing trip with his family and didn't return, according to an article from BreakingAC.com.

After the police were notified by his daughter, DeLarso's truck was found at the northend beach, with his cell phone and fishing rods still in the vehicle, but his crabbing bucket was gone, according to an article from BreakingAC.com.

"We're just trying to stay strong together, as a family and praying our hearts out," said Samantha DeLarso, Sam DeLarso's daughter.

The Coast Guard searched for DeLarso for 12 hours on Sunday, but found no evidence of him, according to an article from Fox 29 News. The Ocean City Police and the Cape May County Prosecutors Office are still investigating the disappearance.

DeLarso is described as tan and 6 foot 2 inches, weighing around 190 pounds. If anyone has information on his whereabouts, they're encouraged to call the Ocean City Police at (609) 399-9111.
