Coastal Flooding Expected At Jersey Shore
As Ophelia's remnants linger off the coast, expect flooding at the Jersey Shore Tuesday afternoon into the night.

JERSEY SHORE, NJ — As Tropical Storm Ophelia continues to bring gray skies and rain to the Jersey Shore area, "minor to moderate" coastal flooding is in store for Tuesday evening, according to the National Weather Service.
"Minor to moderate coastal flooding is expected late today into tonight as Ophelia's remnants linger off the coast," forecasters said early Tuesday.
A coastal flood advisory has been issued for Middlesex, Western Monmouth, Ocean and Southeastern Burlington, while a coastal flood warning is in store for Atlantic and Cape May counties.

Both will be in effect from 4 p.m. on Sept. 26 through midnight.
Northern shore communities may see up to one foot of inundation near shorelines and tidal waterways, the NWS said. Partial or full road closures are possible.

Further south, one to two feet of inundation is expected with "widespread" flooding where many roads will become impassible, according to the NWS.
Forecasters urge residents to take proper precautions.
"If travel is required, allow extra time as some roads may be closed," forecasters said. "Do not drive around barricades or through water of unknown depth."
Here's the latest forecast for Tuesday into Wednesday:
Tuesday Afternoon: Showers. High near 64. Breezy, with a northeast wind around 20 mph, with gusts as high as 35 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
Tuesday Night: Showers likely, mainly before 7 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 56. Breezy, with a northeast wind 15 to 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
Wednesday: A slight chance of showers before 9 a.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 65. Northeast wind 10 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.
Wednesday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 57. East wind around 10 mph.
