New Banners Will Honor Veterans In Ocean City
Families of veterans with ties to Ocean City will soon be able to recognize their heroes through a new banner program.
OCEAN CITY, NJ — A new program is coming to Ocean City that will celebrate and honor veterans with local ties.
Mayor Jay Gillian made the announcement during this year's annual Veterans Day ceremony on Nov. 11.
"I'm proud that our community has always taken care of our veterans and I'm really grateful for how much our veterans have given back to us in this community," Gillian said.

Families of veterans with ties to Ocean City will be able to purchase banners for display in Veterans Memorial Park starting Dec. 1, Gillian said.
"It's been a program we've been working on for a long, long time," he said. The city wanted to make sure the program was "first class" before rolling it out, Gillian added.

Details about the program and purchasing banners will go up on the Ocean City website and at the mayor's office starting in December, Gillian said.
