OCEAN CITY, NJ — Those with a sweet tooth will be pleased to learn a new boba tea shop and bakery is set to open this spring in Ocean City.
No official opening date has been announced for the new Boba Works, which will be opening at 960 Asbury Ave., which formerly housed Drip N Scoop. But no worries to Drip N Scoop lovers - the ice cream shop will apparently be reopening in a smaller location.
The spot, which once was located in Linwood, serves a variety of boba options, according to the Boba Works website.

If you're not familiar with boba, also known as "bubble tea," it's a sweet drink that got its start in Taiwan and has spread throughout the United States. These drinks are made with black, oolong or green teas, with or without milk. The hallmark is the "boba pearls" - chewy tapioca balls that add an interesting texture. Some drinks also have "popping boba," which are fruit-flavored balls that burst.
Boba Works serves several different tea flavors, with non-dairy options too, and plenty of boba varieties. The spot also serves as a bakery with Asian-flavored baked goods.
