New Bus Route Links Philadelphia With Southern Jersey Shore

JERSEY SHORE, NJ — Traveling down the shore just got easier. Travel company OurBus has announced a new bus route that takes passengers directly from Philadelphia to destinations on the Jersey Shore.

The new OurBus route beginning on May 19 will be the first and only direct service between Philadelphia and Absecon, Ventnor and Margate, the company said in a release. Passengers will also be able to travel to Wildwood and Ocean City.

“Philadelphia residents have been waiting for a clean, fast, and economical way to travel to their favorite beach towns in the southern Garden State – and OurBus offers them a new, customer-friendly option,” Numaan Akram, CEO of Rally OurBus said in a release. “We look forward to providing visitors and homeowners with superb service that will make their summer travels ‘down the shore’ easier, more relaxing, and more convenient.”

The route begins at NRG Station in Philadelphia at the northeast corner of S. Broad Street and Pattison Avenue. The first stop is in Galloway at the Frank Sinatra Service Area. There, passengers will switch to a luxury SUV or sprinter van to head to Absecon, Margate and Ventnor. Or they get on a minibus shuttle vehicle to head to Ocean City and Wildwood.

The OurBus route from Philadelphia to the Jersey Shore will run on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Fares will start at $49 one way, and shore point stops will be located in the town centers near the beach.

Amenities for OurBus passengers include complimentary bottled water, free Wifi and USB ports at each seat. The buses are contracted with independent coach services and are premium, charter-style motor coaches. Safety protocols for OurBus include comprehensive cleaning/disinfecting of each bus consistent with CDC guidelines at the completion of each trip.
