OCBP Dominates Women's Lifeguard Invitational

The Ocean City Beach Patrol defends its title.

The Ocean City Beach Patrol nearly swept every event in the annual Women's Lifeguard Invitational competition it hosted Wednesday evening on the beach at 34th Street.

The OCBP women picked up four first places and one second place in the five-event competition to repeat as champions.

Erin Curry was a double-winner for the OCBP in the box swim and paddleboard races. Curry won the same two events at the Longport Invitational last week.

The doubles crew of Rachel Boudart and Emma Elmer won the sprint doubles.

Shawnee Foglio and Holly Berenotto teamed up to repeat as champions in the row/swim — an event introduced last year, in which a doubles crew rows from the beach to a set of flags, where one rower jumps out of the boat and swims back to the beach.
