Pet Killed, Family Displaced On Christmas Eve After Jersey Shore House Fire
A kitchen fire resulted in a family pet dying and the family itself being displaced on Christmas Eve night, officials said.
UPPER TWP., NJ — A family lost both their pet and their home in a house fire on Christmas Eve, firefighters said.
The Seaville Vol. Fire and Rescue Company was joined by Marmora Fire, Tuckahoe Fire and Upper Township Division of EMS just after 11:15 p.m. on Dec. 24 for a house fire.
An active kitchen fire had moderate smoke billowing throughout the home, Seaville Fire said.

The bulk of the fire was extinguished with a dry chemical fire extinguisher by fire service personnel and the building was checked for extension.
Due to the extent of the fire damage, the family was displaced and their pet died, Seaville Fire said. The American Red Cross is taking care of the family now.

No human injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
