OCBP Women Defend Title at Longport Invitational

Ocean City Beach Patrol wins the women's lifeguard event for the seventh time.

The Ocean City Beach Patrol women's team won the Longport Women's Lifeguard Invitational for the third consecutive year with a dominant performance on Tuesday.

OCBP placed in every event to score 30 points. Atlantic City was second with 18 points, and Ventnor third with 16.

The win was Ocean City's seventh in the event since it began in 1998. Ventnor also has won seven times.

Ocean City's Erin Curry led the patrol with victories in two different events. Curry caught a wave at the end of a close swim to pull away and run to victory. She left no doubt in a dominant performance on the paddleboard.

Curry's teammate Holly Berenotto finished third in the swim to add to Ocean City's point total.

The OCBP doubles rowing crew of Rachel Boudart and Emma Elmer gave Ocean City a third-place finish in the opening event. Atlantic City's Macy Miller and Mallory Sykes won the doubles handily.

Shawnee Foglio finished fourth in the singles row, an event that saw Stone Harbor's Kelly Bainbridge finish first.

The surf dash team of Stephanie Hauck, Sam Brady, Jill Smaniotto and Carly Wray finished second to seal Ocean City's victory.
