Ocean City Community to Gather on Sandy Anniversary
All are invited to give thanks on Tuesday, Oct. 29, to those who helped in aftermath of Superstorm Sandy.
Exactly one year after Superstorm Sandy battered Ocean City, the relief group OCNJ Care invites the community to gather Tuesday (Oct. 29) "to say thank you to God, each other and all those who helped."
All are encouraged to come to St. Peter’s United Methodist Church (501 E. 8th Street) 5 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. Tuesday for light refreshments and to "celebrate the strength of the greater Ocean City community."
"We should take pride as a community for the way we worked together to recover from the impacts of this devastating storm," Mayor Jay Gillian said in an open letter to the community. "At the same time, we must remember that there are still people who are not back in their homes and local businesses that are still trying to make up for the losses the storm inflicted."
