The Cape May County Health Department reported the following in Ocean City as of Thursday morning— figures from Ocean City Patch's last update Nov. 13 are in parenthesis.

- community residents cleared off quarantine: 168 (158)
- community deaths: two (one)
- nonresident active cases: zero (zero)
- longterm-care active cases: 30 (zero)
- longterm-care cleared off quarantine: six (five)
- longterm-care deaths: four (two)

Recent Updates
- Nineteen residents and 17 staff at United Methodist Communities at the Shores — a nursing home in Ocean City — recently tested positive for the coronavirus. The cases have been confined to skilled nursing, and no assisted-living patients have tested positive, according to a spokesperson for the home. MORE.
- With financial difficulties associated with the pandemic, this could be one of the most important holiday seasons in a long time for small businesses. Ocean City's "Earlier than the Bird" gives some of those businesses a chance to stand out before the holidays.
Here's what else you should know:
- Gov. Phil Murphy joined a group of governors in neighboring states in urging college students from New Jersey to test for COVID-19 before leaving for Thanksgiving break, and also quarantining before going home. MORE.
- Murphy has once again expanded New Jersey's quarantine travel advisory list to its biggest ever, now demanding any travelers from 46 states and territories to quarantine for two weeks after returning – even if their travel route started in the Garden State. MORE.
