OCEAN CITY, NJ — Faculty and families within the Ocean City School District have registered to get vaccinated against COVID-19 at the high school this week.

The Ocean City High School will host AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center’s traveling COVID-19 vaccine mega clinic on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Pfizer vaccines will be administered in the auxiliary gym from 1 to 6 p.m. The clinic is expected to administer 300 vaccines each day.

To receive a COVID-19 vaccine, families must register through AtlantiCare and fill out consent forms for students under 18.

“Our teachers and staff have been working day in and day out keeping their classrooms safe, updating and implementing needed protocols and giving our students the best experience they can have despite the restrictions. This is another step in the right direction to keeping our students and our staff safe through this pandemic,” said Superintendent Kathleen Taylor.

About two days of vaccine supply has been requested for the Ocean City School District. Students, families and faculty from the Mainland Regional School District have reserved the remainder of vaccines.

“We are grateful to be afforded this opportunity to host and help provide a much needed outlet for our community members,” said Patrick Kane, head of the district's Covid-19 Committee. “We’re thrilled to be taking this next step to strengthen our community, especially with helping provide our teachers, staff and students with added protection. It’s invaluable.”
