Ocean City Library Announces Fall Concert Series

OCEAN CITY, NJ — The Ocean City Library has announced its upcoming fall concert series.
All concerts are scheduled for Sundays at 2 p.m. under the library tent. No tickets or reservations required for the free concerts.
There will be limited seating available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Sept. 12 - The Fiddle Club

The Fiddle Club, coordinated by Dr. May Strange of the Music Studio in Linwood, performs three programs a year at libraries and various venues in the area.
The group consists of a string orchestra made up of talented students and professional musicians.
Sept. 26 - Minas Brazilian Jazz Duo
Based in Philadelphia for a great part of their career, Minas has been on the forefront of world music and Brazilian Jazz in the Northeast for more than 30 years. Led by the couple Orlando Haddad and Patricia King, Minas has recorded and released six albums.
Their latest, “Symphony in Bossa,” was indicated for three Grammy Awards. Minas has won “Best of Philly” from Philadelphia Magazine twice. They write original music as well as perform classic Brazilian standards by A. C. Jobim and Sergio Mendes & Brasil 66.
Oct. 3 - Grateful Rob
Since 2004, Grateful Rob has opened for national acts at major concert venues, entertained at festivals, block parties, fund-raisers, bar rooms, and continues his work playing oldies in senior living communities.
From Bob Dylan to Frank Sinatra, Bruce Springsteen to Elvis Presley, classic film pieces like "As Time Goes By" to 1970's yacht rockers like "Year of the Cat," a Grateful Rob concert experience has something for all ages and musical tastes.
Rob's full band appears on the Ocean City boardwalk for summertime Family Nights as well as fundraising events for Walk for the Wounded veterans benefits. Grateful Rob's originals can be found on Spotify under the name "Grateful Rob's Synthetic Dream Collective."
Oct. 10 - Package Goods Orchestra
The group plays music from the '50s, '60s, '70s and beyond. PGO will pay tribute to The Mamas & The Papas, Fleetwood Mac, The Beatles, Crosby, Stills Nash & Young, and many more favorites.
PGO will also be collecting non-perishable items for the OC Food Cupboard.
Oct. 17 - Spiced Punch
With a repertoire that ranges from the haunting to the irreverent, Spiced Punch recreates the spirit and mirth of 18th Century-era entertainment.
Emphasizing the vocal music of the era, Marianne Tucker, Denise Gealer, Dave Emerson and Tom Tucker combine their talents. Spiced Punch combines stories, soaring vocals, guitar, recorders, penny whistle, bodhran, drums and fife to produce their unique sound.
Oct. 24 - The Playmates Quartet
The Playmates Quartet features flutist Pamela Whitman leading her ensemble of versatile musicians with a spirit of fun. Their concerts include a variety of genres including classical favorites performed by Whitman and gifted pianist Scott Breiner mixed with a healthy dose of jazz delivered by the whole quartet.
“The Playmates UnPlugged!” will feature music by American composer Gary Schocker, Claude Bolling, John Rutter’s cross-over work “Suite Antique” and a new jazz work by Eugene Magalif.
