Ocean City Nor'easters Add Final Tryout To Join Soccer Team

The Nor'easters are looking to fill their roster, as well as grow their reserve and under-23 teams.

OCEAN CITY, NJ — Popular USL League Two soccer club Ocean City Nor'easters are looking to fill out their team and have added one last tryout date in April.

On Saturday, April 16, those who are interested in joining the team have a final chance to join an open tryout at at Carey Stadium, nicknamed "The Beach House."

The tryout will run from 1 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. The cost is $60 to participate.

"We have put together an exciting group of top players from all over the world but we are still looking for a couple more to round out one of our best squads in years," said Nor'easters head coach Kevin Nuss in a release. Nuss spent seven seasons with Ocean City in a variety of roles from 2011-16 and then as head coach and sporting director in 2019. Nuss is back as head coach in 2022.

The Nor'easters will not only be seeking to fill the last few roster spots on the senior team. They also are focusing on Ocean City's Reserve team and the Under-23 team.

The Nor'easters will play in their 25th season as a club (19th as a member of USL League Two) in 2022. Out of the more than 100 teams in North America, the Nor'easters have the fifth-best record in USL League Two since 2003, and the seventh-most wins in the history of the league.

After making a playoff run during the 2021 season, Ocean City is hoping to build on that performance and challenge for a league title in 2022.
