Ocean City Police To Hold 'Coffee With A Cop'

New York Café and Grill will be providing free coffee to all who attend "Coffee with a Cop" on Saturday, Jan. 15​ from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

OCEAN CITY, NJ — The Ocean City Police Department is holding a Coffee with a Cop event at New York Café and Grill on Saturday, Jan. 15 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The national Coffee with a Cop program is designed to help officers and community members connect in an informal setting. The initiative began 10 years ago in Hawthorne, California, when officers looked for ways to more successfully interact with the community.

Since then, Coffee with a Cop has spread to all 50 states and Canada, Latin America, Europe, Africa and Australia.

The public is invited to discuss any thoughts or questions on local policing and other topics with the department’s community policing unit.

New York Café and Grill at 928 Haven Ave. will be providing free coffee to all who attend.
