Ocean City Resident To Run 100 Miles For Charity
Rich McCleary, a 47-year-old manager at the Manahawkin Applebee's, will be running 100 miles for Ocean of Love.

MANAHAWKIN, NJ - How far would you run for something that you care deeply about. An Ocean City Resident who works as a Manahawkin Applebee's Manager is willing to put his body to the test on a 100 mile run to benefit Ocean of Love, a charity for children with cancer in Ocean County, according to a release from BML Public Relations.
On Saturday, November 3, Richard McCleary will start his 100 mile run from Cape May Point, ending at the Applebee's he works at in Manahawkin the following day.
McCleary wasn't always a long distance runner, according to the release. Eight years ago McCleary was 135 lbs. overweight and facing a moment in his life. He either had to change his habits, or face an early death. Since then, McCleary has focused on improving himself and giving back to Ocean of Love.

McCleary has already raised $6,500 for Ocean of Love with his run, but is looking for people to help even more, according to his GoFundMe page.
"I hope that we can count on your generosity for this amazing charity. Any donations will be greatly appreciated," McCleary said on his GoFundMe.

To end the run, the Manahawkin Applebee's will have a patio party for him up on his arrival, with live music, drink specials and half-priced appetizers, according to the release from BLM Public Relations. Donations towards Ocean of Love will be accepted at the patio party, as well.
