Teachers, staff, parents and other community members are invited to have an open discussion on various topics involving the reopening of schools for the 2021-2022 school year.
“We want to give everyone an opportunity to share their concerns or ask any questions regarding the upcoming school year with a proper platform for change if need be,” said Interim Superintendent Dr. Thomas Baruffi. “If we can hear people out first hand, we may be able to come up with a solution as a community. We don’t want anyone to feel as if they aren’t heard.”

Anyone unable to attend can send questions to Baruffi's secretary by Monday, Aug. 23 at mkeiluhn@ocsdnj.org.
Baruffi posted a letter on the district’s website about the reopening plan for the 2021-22 school year.
Ocean City school district students will return to five days of in-person instruction with health and safety protocols like social distancing and face coverings in place.
“Over the past several months, the Ocean City School District has gathered feedback from a number of sources to develop the Opening School Plan for the 2021-2022 school year,” Baruffi said. “Although we recognize there are varying perspectives on mitigation strategies, the district has outlined a plan for opening schools for the 2021-2022 school year.”
The initial draft of the plan was distributed on June 24 to gather feedback from the district community.
The full letter can be read here.
The first day of school for students in the Ocean City School District is Sept. 7.
