Painting the Town Ocean City-Style

Nancy Palermo has a good start on a classic "Greetings From Ocean City" postcard outside the at Ninth Street and Ocean Avenue.

Sue Rau is getting started on dalmatians outside the at Sixth Street and Asbury Avenue.

Palermo and Rau were two of the 12 artists who were outside on Monday painting on public property. Volunteers of the Community Art Projects organization are now in their seventh year of a mission to beautify Ocean City through public art. The artists were using traffic signal boxes and other similar equipment as their canvasses.

Rau's dalmatians will overlook a giant mural on the side of the Fire Department that she also helped create. Palermo is working on her third traffic signal box in town.

Palermo and Rau are just a pair of the 12 talented volunteers who will continue work today and possibly through the week on their creations. To follow their progress, check the following locations:
