Peace Pole to Be Erected Saturday in Ocean City

The symbol of world peace will be installed at the park across from City Hall noon Sept. 21.

WHAT: The International Day of Peace will be celebrated.

WHEN:  Noon, Saturday, Sept. 21

WHERE: At the Ocean City Mini Park, 9th and Asbury Ave., across from City Hall

HOW and WHY: Peace advocates will gather 11:30 a.m. at St. Peters United Methodist Church, 8th Street and Central Avenue to transport a “Peace Pole” to the Mini Park across from City Hall.  At noon, they will present the pole to the city and it will be permanently installed at the park as a symbol of the city’s dedication to world peace. The contingent will be led by Susan Brastow, a peace advocate and member of the St. Peters congregation.
