'The Prom: School Edition' To Make South Jersey Debut In Ocean City
The Greater Ocean City Theatre Company's High School Junior Company will present "The Prom: School Edition" this month.

OCEAN CITY, NJ — The Greater Ocean City Theatre Company’s High School Junior Company will present the South Jersey debut of the Broadway musical "The Prom: School Edition" this month.
The production will take place at Ocean City Music Pier on July 18 and 19 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are available for purchase at oceancitytheatrecompany.com, with all seating priced at $15 per person.
"The Prom" features four eccentric Broadway stars find themselves in desperate need of a new stage. When they hear that trouble is brewing around a small-town prom, they know it’s their time to shine a spotlight on the issue—and themselves. The town’s parents want to maintain a traditional high school dance, but when one student simply wants to bring her girlfriend to prom, the entire community faces a turning point. On a mission to create positive change, these Broadway stars join forces with a courageous girl and the town's residents, resulting in love that unites them all. Winner of the Drama Desk Award for Best Musical, "The Prom: School Edition" captures the humor and heart of classic musical comedies while delivering an important message that resonates with audiences today. In addition to being a Broadway hit, "The Prom" was also adapted into a successful film featuring Meryl Streep, Nicole Kidman, James Corden, Kerry Washington, and others.
