Public Invited to Art Reception on Friday

Meed Barnett's "Multimeedia" exhibit is on display through July 31.

The public is invited to a free "meet the artist" reception 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, July 13, at the . The event coincides with an exhibit by Meed Barnett.

The name of the show, "Multimeedia", reflects Ms. Barnett's ability to paint in all mediums including watercolor, acrylic, oils and pastels. She also creates unique and interesting drawings, and hand-crafts jewelry using precious metals.

While all her work is exceptional, the star of the show is Ms. Barnett's metal jewelry and accessories.  She uses copper, brass and silver, along with precious stones to create "wearable" art such as earrings, necklaces and belts.  Her earrings start at $9.50 and her necklaces are priced very competitively, beginning at about $100.

Ms. Barnett was raised in Woodstock, New York and is the fourth generation artist and crafts-person.  Her grandfather, Rudolf Wetterau, was an accomplished advertising artist in Manhattan.
