From local fields to national fame, these stars got their start in Ocean City.

Sports run deep in Ocean City, and Ocean City High School has long been at the heart of it. It’s no surprise some standout talent once wore the Red Raiders uniform. Today we're celebrating five unforgettable athletes from Ocean City High School who made a name for themselves well beyond the hometown field.
1. Doug Colman - NCAA Two-Time National Champion
An Ocean City Hall of Famer and former South Jersey Defensive Player of the Year, Colman was a member of two back-to-back undefeated National Championship teams with Nebraska before having a brief NFL career as a sixth-round pick with the New York Giants. (Source: Huskers.com)
2. Chad Severs - Former Professional Soccer Player
Another Hall of Famer, Severs had a prolific soccer career with three league championships, two South Jersey titles and two state championships before continuing his career at Penn State and then professionally. (Source: PrimeEvents.net)

3. Lauren McHale - Ocean City All-Decades Team Member & Hall Of Famer
A historic name in Red Raider history, McHale earned spots on the 1990s All-Decade Teams for both soccer and track. She once held the school records for points and assists in soccer and won the 800-meter dash at the NJSIAA Meet of Champions in track. (Source: OCSDNJ.org)

4. Miles Schoedler - New Jersey Group III Two-Time State Title Holder
Another champion on the list, Schoedler won two state titles as a Red Raider, in addition to the 2011 Indoor New Balance Boston Grand Prix. He later went on to set new career bests in his time at Georgetown. (Source: GUHoyas.com)
5. Archie Harris - NCAA Champion & Former World Record Holder
The final member of our list, Harris was a two-sport athlete at Indiana University — an All-Big Ten honoree in football and an NCAA champion in track, where he set a world record in the discus.
