Ron Jon Surf Shop To Close Ocean City Location

OCEAN CITY, NJ — Ron Jon Surf Shop will be closing its Ocean City location next month, officials said this week.

The store's last day is Oct. 6.

"We would like to take this opportunity to thank the residents of Ocean City for welcoming us and thank our Ocean City team for their loyalty and commitment," the store said in a Facebook post announcing the closure.

Ron Jon Surf Shop opened at 761 Asbury Ave. in 2021. It was the chain's second New Jersey location, following the original store that opened in Ship Bottom in 1961. It has several locations in the United States, with most being in Florida.

A reason for the closure was not stated.

"We would also like to express our appreciation to our customers at the Ocean City location for their trust and support," the social media post read. "We are truly grateful for your patronage and hope that your shopping experience with us was a good one."

"We will miss being a part of the Ocean City community and thank you all," the store said.
