CAPE MAY COUNTY, NJ — The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch in Cape May County until 10 p.m. Monday.

Threats include wind, hail and lightning, according to the National Weather Service. Hail as large as ping-pong ball sized and frequent lightning are possible, while scattered gusts up to 75 mph are likely.

Monday Night: Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly before 1am. Some storms could be severe, with damaging winds and heavy rain. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 70. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Independence Day: Partly sunny, with a high near 88. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph.

Tuesday Night: A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms before 10pm. Partly cloudy, with a low around 69. Southwest wind around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
