Paramus Native, 'A Happy Soul' Died In Parkway Crash: Report

Jessica Munoz, 30, died at the scene, according to one report.

PARAMUS, NJ — A borough native was identified as the person killed in a crash on the Garden State Parkway Sunday, according to a report.

Jessica Munoz, 30, of who lived in Rahway, was going north near milepost 157 in Clifton when she hit a guardrail, went across the highway, and crashed into a concrete barrier, at about 10:45 a.m. State Police Trooper Alejandro Goez said.

Munoz was a Paramus native, NJ.com reported.

There were no other vehicles involved in the crash and Munoz was the only person in the vehicle, police stated.

Munoz was a teacher at Grace Wilday Junior High School in Roselle, NJ.com reported.

Munoz worked her way through college at the Apple store at the Westfield Garden State Plaza in Paramus, according to NJ.com.

"I can't remember a moment when you weren't smiling, always able to light up any environment you were in," Jose Ybarra, who worked with Munoz, said on Facebook. "She was such a happy soul. God has gained another angel."

Others who worked with her agreed.

"She was the sweetest thing and like everyone said always brightened our days at Apple," said Lisa Roquemore. "Rest in peace, Jess."

Munoz earned her associate's degree at Bergen Community College and her bachelor's and master's degrees from Montclair State University, according to the report.
