Water Main Break Closes Lane Of Major Bergen County Highway

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — A water main break closed a lane of Route 17 just before 8 a.m. on Monday morning, the state Department of Transportation said.

The break closed the right lane of Route 17 North in Hasbrouck Heights, near Industrial Avenue, said the state.

The state reported the break at 7:42 a.m.

According to Veolia Water, the company that services the water infrastructure in the region, crews are on-site repairing a leak and although the road isn’t closed, motorists are asked to avoid the area.

The break was the second one reported in Bergen County in two days. Mahwah police reported a break on Sunday night that closed a road in that town. READ MORE: Water Main Break Closes Mahwah Road
