17-Year Sentence Upheld For Parsippany Rapist: Report
Eric Rengal has already served more than eight years, will likely be deported upon release, report says.

PARSIPPANY – The man convicted of chasing an 18-year-old woman down a Parsippany street, beating her and raping her, will have his 17-year sentence upheld after an Appellate Court ruling.
Eric Rengal, an illegal immigrant from Mexico in jail since the horrific crime in 2007, was initially sentenced to 27 years after his conviction, dailyrecord.com reported. But in 2013 that was reduced to just 17 years when the Appellate Court tossed convictions for aggravated and attempted aggravated sexual assault.
